Dr. Fitri is a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Health, Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia, and a researcher at the Center for Environmental and Industrial Health Studies (PKKLI) FKM UI and the Research Center on Climate Change (RCCC) UI. She holds a Ph.D. in Occupational and Environmental Health from the Graduate School of Medicine, Nagoya University, Japan, and a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Indonesia. Dr. Fitri’s research focuses on environmental toxicology, the health impacts of air pollution and industrial activities. Dr. Fitri is active in various multidisciplinary research, including on particulate matter (PM) exposure and cardiometabolic diseases, the development of remediation for heavy metals in water, and the ecological and health risks of chromium and tannery waste in South Asia. Dr. Fitri has published her work in several highly reputable international journals in the field of environmental health, such as Chemosphere, Science of the Total Environment, and Annals of Global Health. In addition, she led research on health risk perception related to drinking water quality in Jakarta and the development of a mobile application for real-time health risk assessment. Her work bridges environmental science and public health, with an emphasis on practical solutions to reduce pollutant exposure and health risks, particularly in vulnerable population groups.
